When one thinks about Egypt they think about sand, pharaohs, and pyramids; But the most important of all Egyptian history is the Nile River. The Nile River is a major river in the world and is located in Egypt. The river greatly shaped Ancient Egypt as life, civilization, and culture was built around it. Culture was greatly influenced by the Nile River as it affected their traditions, lifestyle, and other things. 

The culture of the Ancient Egyptians was greatly influenced and shaped by the Nile River above anything else. The Nile River is the longest river in the world located in Eastern Africa and was a staple in Ancient Egypt. Egyptian culture was affected by the Nile River in many ways. One example is that they had names for the river’s flood cycle, as well as their seasons and life-style being based around it. In a painting on a tomb of a tradesman the Nile River is depicted in the Field of Reeds and is a large part of the image which shows its importance to the Egyptian afterlife. An Egyptian hymn song from 2100 BCE hails the Nile River and shows how much it means to them and that Egypt as a whole praised the Nile.
