Finally, after millions of years of evolution, the homo sapiens, the modern humans, first roamed the earth around 550,000 to 750,000 years ago. As we still exist and flourish, our species’ ability to survive for over 600,000 years, and being the first to do so, shows how we are most likely the final evolution or very close to the end of the long chain since the Australopithecines. Since we have been around for so long, homo sapiens have been evolving for the whole time that we have been around which is a new trait as we evolve far faster than our predecessors. In order to survive for all this time, they used many different tools and methods to do so. The earliest homo sapiens found were found in different parts of Africa, mainly in Morocco. Eventually, Homo Sapiens expanded to other parts of the world and can now be found everywhere. The main way Homo sapiens moved was by migrating for weather or other things that they needed to live, such as a sustainable food source.

Obviously the physical characteristics of homo sapiens do not require a description as you are one yourself, but as mentioned previously, we evolve at rapid paces and the first of our kind were not so similar. These Early Homo Sapiens had bigger brains than we do now by nearly 250 cubic centimeters, almost 20 percent larger in size. Their skulls, unlike previous “Homo” species, were the broadest at the top and had legs longer than their arms. They also possessed teeth smaller than earlier species as well as their limb bones being far thinner and less robust than earlier species.

The diet of the Early Homo sapiens included nuts, seeds, roots and tubers, meats, fruits, leaves, and other plants. We do not know as it has not proven or denied that cannibalism took place in their society, though they were still quite feral and beastly as after they ate meat of the bone of an animal, they would also consume the bone marrow. Early Homo Sapiens used technology mostly composed of stone tools and weapons. These tools included bows, arrows, spear throwers, harpoons and spear tips. They were also skilled in making various small tools like fish hooks and sewing needles. Since those 600,000 years ago, Homo Sapiens have both evolved greatly as well as made an immeasurable amount of advancements making the people we are today.
